**Lothian Community Transport Services ** _(LCTS)_

**Chief Executive Officer**

**Reporting to**:The Chair and Board of Trustees.

Development and management of the organisation.

**Key Responsibilities**:This requires balancing service requirements and opportunities, whilst maintaining overall strategic direction within the values and policies of LCTS.

**Responsible for**:Staff Team, including volunteers.

**Based at**:200 Sir Harry Lauder Road, Edinburgh.

**Salary**:Circa £50,000.

**Hours**:35 Hours per week.

28 days Annual Leave, plus 7 days
**Holidays**: statutory public holidays.

A matched pension contribution of up to
6% into any legal pension fund.

The CEO has responsibility for the efficient day-to-day running of LCTS. They are also responsible for strategic leadership, ensuring a strong vision is developed and communicated to employees, stakeholders and partners, managing change as the organisation evolves.

**Main Requirements**:

- Ensure LCTS has a clear vision.
- Ensure that LCTS has a robust delivery plan.
- Provide the Board of Trustees and staff with appropriate information, advice and support, to enable them to fulfil their role and responsibilities.
- Facilitate organisational development through proactive management.
- Lead on organisational communication.
- Identify and develop new members and customers for LCTS and TTS.
- Develop and market new products and services.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and ensure necessary compliance.
- Fulfil the role of Company Secretary for LCTS.
- Assume overall day-to-day operational responsibility of the organisation.

**Operational**:

- Ensure LCTS has sufficient resources to deliver services.
- Ensure staff and volunteers have the necessary qualifications and training.
- Maintain records for the efficient and legal operation of the vehicles, ensuring compliance and legal operation, adopting best practice wherever possible.
- Provide operational reports as required.

**Management**:

- Lead the team and work collectively with others regarding operations, monitoring and financial management.
- Negotiate, manage and monitor Service Level Agreements, contracts and other appropriate agreements, in relation to current and future service provision.
- Provide regular updates and written reports to the Board of Trustees.

**External Relationships**:

- Act as a focal point of contact for external partners and stakeholders, ensuring they are adequately and appropriately briefed.
- Ensure LCTS is positively promoted to key audiences, and that our reputation is enhanced through liaison, representation, publicity, presentations and the maintenance of highest professional standards.
- To work with external partners and stakeholders to enhance service provision.

**General**:

- Assume responsibility for Health & Safety compliance.
- Ensure compliance with all LCTS policies and procedures.
- Undertake other appropriate tasks within the context of the overall objectives of the post.
