**About the Role**

The Senior Estimator will play a pivotal role in the growth and success of our business. Responsible for leading the estimating function, this role will ensure accurate, competitive, and profitable tenders and cost plans are produced across all projects.

The Senior Estimator will work closely with the Commercial, Operations, and Delivery teams to secure work, support project set-up, and maintain strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the preparation of accurate and detailed cost estimates and tenders for projects across all measures (e.g. renewable energy, retrofit, and domestic construction works).
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive costings.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and market information.
- Develop and maintain cost databases, benchmark information, and supply chain relationships.
- Work collaboratively with the Operations team to ensure a smooth handover from pre-construction to delivery.
- Identify and evaluate commercial risks within tenders and proposals, recommending mitigation strategies.
- Support the Commercial Manager/Directors in bid reviews and tender adjudications.
- Mentor and support junior estimators and apprentices within the team, encouraging knowledge-sharing and professional development.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating systems, processes, and procedures.
- Represent the business in client meetings and presentations, supporting business development and client retention.

**Key Skills and Experience**
- Proven experience as an Estimator, with at least 5 years’ experience in a senior or lead role.
- Strong background in construction, retrofit, or renewable energy sectors (preferred).
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing strategies.
- Advanced IT skills including estimating software, Excel, and MS Office.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of contractual and risk management issues.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders/projects simultaneously and to work under pressure to deadlines.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.

Pay: £60,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
