**Working hours**: 37.5 hours per week

**Who Our Opportunity is for**: We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Assistant Technical Officer to join our pharmacy stores and medicines procurement teams.

You need to be able to effectively manage your time to prioritise work and meet deadlines and have excellent communication skills. Working across pharmacy stores, procurement office and on wards you will need to be flexible and be able to work weekends and bank holidays.

To be responsible for issuing, distribution and stock-control of Top Up Medicines for Wards and Departments across the Trust. To receive, unpack and check all orders received into the Pharmacy Stores from wholesalers and other companies; ensure they are stored correctly following the principles of Good Distribution Practice To participate in the Pharmacy stock-control programme investigating discrepancies, maintaining and rotating stock and ensuring waste is kept to a minimum.
To participate in the secure delivery of pharmacy stock to all clinical areas within the Trust.

To be responsible for accuracy checking of ward stock top up including the drug’s strength, formulation, pack size, expiry date and quantity, in line with departmental procedures, prior to delivery.

To be responsible for processing Purchase Orders and Requisitions for medicines and related products via the pharmacy stock control system using electronic ordering (or other electronic means of communication) with all compliant suppliers.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large District General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital.

The Trust provides services in all of the surgical and medical specialties common to a District General Hospital with some specialist services.
