**Job overview**:
**You will be part of the Urgent Treatment Centre Team providing clinical assessment and support to the care and treatment of a diverse and undetermined caseload of patients requiring Emergency/Urgent Care, who may have highly complex acute presentation from the very sick seriously ill, to the more minor common illnesses and injuries.**
The Senior Advanced Clinical Practitioner will work autonomously, demonstrate highly specialised knowledge and skills in the diagnosis and management of patients attending the Urgent Treatment Centre. You will act as a senior decision maker providing leadership and clinical support to junior members of the team. You will demonstrate safe, critical decision-making in the clinical decision-making process and will work collaboratively with the clinicians, nursing team and multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures relevant to the departments.
**Main duties of the job**:
You will have a structured job plan incorporating the four advanced clinical practice pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research. They will also have a significant role in developing and influencing strategies, policies, and service development to ensure excellence in clinical care for all patients and improve advanced care delivery. This will include facilitating the implementation and development of local and national policies and partaking in planning the strategic direction of acute care for children and adults within the Care organisation.
The post holder will provide a senior ACP service as part of the senior clinical team on the urgent Treatment Centre as part of the 24 hours senior medical rota.
They will develop and oversee quality improvement projects aligned with strategic service developments, supporting research projects where appropriate and ensure that evidence-based practice is inherent in all aspects of care and treatment delivered. They will develop and maintain clinical excellence through the dissemination of their knowledge and expertise across their clinical area, organisation and externally as appropriate.
The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership and support for colleagues within the urgent treatment centre department and support colleagues from other areas on site as required.

The Urgent Treatment Centre based at Rochdale Infirmary offers a service for adults and children requiring assessment and management of minor injury and or minor illness. With over 50,000 attendances annually and one third of these service users are children.
The team in UTC are multidisciplinary; Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Emergency Practitioners working along side General Practitioners, Emergency Consultants and a team of Registered Nurses, Associate Nurses and Healthcare Support workers.
The team are diverse in their experience and skills that they can share with you. Amongst our team we have qualified paramedics and both adult and children's nurses practising in an advanced capacity. Development of staff is a key focus for us and this is achieved with the support and guidance from our in house dedicated practise based educator

- Current registration with NMC/ HCPC.
- An Advanced Clinical Practice MSc accredited by the Centre for Advancing Practice OR Successful recognition with the Centre of Advancing Practice via the ePortfolio (Supported) Route to demonstrate educational equivalence that all the capabilities of advanced level practice at master’s level (level 7) have been met OR equivalent MSc Advanced Practice
