Stock Controller

Arnold Laver, part of the National Timber Group, are looking to recruit an experienced Stock Controller to join a busy team based at their Rainham branch.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Monitor and manage stock levels to prevent overstocking or shortages.
- Perform regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using internal systems.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal departments regarding stock movement.
- Process stock receipts, returns, and adjustments.
- Ensure goods are stored correctly and organised for easy access.
- Assist with stock takes and audits.
- Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and make recommendations.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health & safety policies.
**Tasks**:
- Goods inwards - inputting of incoming stock on to system, ensuring quality, quantity and correct product is input.
- Responsible for pack splits and creating of pack labels.
- Ensure stock adjustments are carried out in a timely manner to maintain computer stock at an accurate level at all times.
- Compilation of stock endurance information
- Comparing the monthly stock valuation to company accounts
- Ensure purchases are audited on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of information.
- To identify and react to any stock queries for the group.
- Maintenance of the “add to values” and ensuring branch/sales staff are aware of products for clearance.
**Attributes**:
- Previous experience in a stock control and inventory within a warehouse environment.
- Working with timber products would be an advantage.
- Good IT skills, particularly with stock management software and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Forklift license (desirable but not essential)
**Working hours, Benefits and Salary**:
- Full time position, Monday to Friday.
