Coquet Trust has 2 full-time permanent vacancies available for a Support Worker to provide person centred support. Due to a genuine need for the person we support, we require you to be confident in water and able to swim, with PBS trained experience.
Experience working with mental health needs would be highly desirable.
In this role you will be supporting 3 males with learning disabilities and autism. One of the males requires personal care. The males in this location like to be active and get our into the community to enjoy social activities.

**Hours**
You will work on a 4 week rolling rota to include some sleeps and weekends.
**Location**
This post will be based in High Heaton.
**Pay**
Support Worker pay rate is £9.50 per hour, plus extra for sleep ins. In addition, Coquet Trust offer staff the following benefits:

**Main Responsibilities**:
Support workers must provide the highest standard of support at all times, meeting the needs of people we support as recorded in their care plan.
You will help develop and maintain independent living skills to the people we support, including:
- Supporting people to pursue hobbies and interests.
- Supporting people to attend appointments.
- Enabling people to access community facilities and community groups.
- Helping with meal preparation and provide assistance where required.
- Supporting with personal care such as administration of medication, bathing, oral hygiene, dressing and moving and transferring if necessary.
- Understanding a person’s communication needs and adapting your communication style to suit each individual e.g. sounds, tones, body language.
**Salary**: £9.70 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Fenham / Gosforth: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Licence/Certification:
- UK Driving Licence and a car? (required)
