**Main Purpose**

To lead, manage, develop and hold responsibility for the delivery of tailored and targeted early intervention and prevention services for children with disabilities and their families.

**Key Tasks**
- To lead on the development and implementation of robust assessment processes for families
- To hold a caseload, including complex families, providing ongoing support whilst ensuring best practice through the work of the Transformation Project
- To provide line management to members of the project team
- To attend relevant meetings, training courses and events as required
- To develop relationships across third sector and statutory agencies to ensure the best possible support for children with disabilities and their families
- To inform the future direction of the Project
- To develop and lead on effective monitoring of the Project
- To conduct monthly supervision sessions with all members of the project team
- To develop effective intervention strategies for children with disabilities and their families
- To enable effective training and awareness raising to be delivered to professionals, ensuring a flow of appropriate referrals into the project
- To raise awareness of the project across the community
- To work with the Charity Manager to develop sustainable services for children with disabilities and their families

A relevant qualification in working with children and families.

**Experience and Knowledge**

Knowledge/understanding of the issues affecting children with disabilities and their families.

A proven ability to manage a project team

Experience of managing a complex caseload

A commitment to equality and diversity in all aspects of practice.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience of different methods of communicating with children and young people.

Experience of Safeguarding.

Experience in a Third Sector organisation

Experience of multi-agency working.

Experience of planning and delivering group activities, monitoring outcomes and evaluating provision.

Experience of writing comprehensive reports.

Experience of working with volunteers and/or student social workers

Experience of delivering presentations to multi-agency teams.

**Skills and Abilities**

Good interpersonal communication and organisational skills.

Ability to keep accurate records, reports and demonstrate impact.

To work constructively as team leader

To work under the constraints of confidentiality.

Experience/knowledge of local authority safeguarding children procedures and multi agency approach to safeguarding.

Ability to manage time effectively, and working under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst maintaining the highest standards of work.

Willingness to work outside ordinary office hours as and when required.

Creativity and the ability to generate ideas and contribute to continuous improvement.
