**Celtic Renewables are widely regarded as one of the most innovative Biotech companies in Europe, having developed a patented low-carbon technology converting biological residues into sustainable bio-chemicals. The process is an inspirational reinvention of a century old process known as the Acetone-Butanol-Ethanol (ABE) fermentation, to bring this age old fermentation back to the global scale. The sustainable biochemicals produced by this innovative process are highly sought after across a range of industries - from biofuels, cosmetics, food flavourings, hygiene and pharmaceuticals. This pioneering company has completed construction of their first state of the art processing plant in Grangemouth, a historical exemplar plant for Scotland, and are already in the process of plant commissioning.**

Celtic Renewables are excited to recruit for a **Manufacturing Process Shift Operator **who will play an integral part in the successful commissioning and future operation of the plant.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- As a Process Operator you will safely and efficiently operate the main process production areas, consisting of a multi-stage batch fermentation process and continuous distillation plant, as part of a shift rota (12 hour day and night shifts).
- You will have a process/manufacturing background and will naturally and strictly follow the instructions as outlined in site procedures, always ensuring compliance and quality.
- You will coordinate and schedule the unit operations of the plant to ensure that the plant runs efficiently and continuously.
- You will always display safe and hygienic working practices and will ensure that the requirements of the Integrated Management System are strictly followed to ensure compliance with H&S, Environmental and other legal requirements to produce safe products and co-products which meet strict quality parameters.
- You will operate, manage and continually contribute to the optimisation of the production processes, from raw material intake to outgoing product.

**Do you have the following Skills, Experience and Qualifications?**
- You will have previous solvent/chemical/distillation production experience or experience of operating a plant within a related manufacturing sector.
- You will have extensive experience using a SCADA system. The plant is highly automated, so you must be proficient and confident in the use of automation systems and associated plant.
- You will be comfortable operating in a dynamic role where processes change and you need to adapt quickly. This involves creation and updating site operating procedures and communicating these with the wider operations team.
- Ideally you will have an understanding or have knowledge of hygienic/sterile manufacturing operations and environment.
- From your previous experience you will be able to demonstrate your knowledge and experience of working strictly within defined safety, environmental, quality and feed safety standards and procedures

**Additional skills that are advantageous**:

- Scientific and/or engineering background
- Awareness/experience of fermentation and/or continuous distillation
- Issuing permits, control of work, and safe isolation of plant
- COSHH trained
- FLT licence

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£38,500.00 per year
