We have a new and exciting post to lead on the Bluescapes project for the Tyne to Tees Shores and Seas Landscape Partnership Scheme (known as SeaScapes). The post is hosted by the National Trust and the post holder will be part of the wider SeaScapes delivery team that will be led by the Programme Manager based within Durham County Council.

SeaScapes is a National Lottery Heritage Fund supported scheme, with NLHF contributing £2.9 million towards a total project budget of £5 million.

Durham County Council is managing the SeaScapes Partnership Scheme on behalf of the wider partnership.

The post will manage and deliver the BlueScapes project ensuring coordination with local water sports providers throughout the area.

**Salary**:£27,846pa

**Contract**:Fixed term contract for 12-18 months

**Hours**:Full time 37.5 per week

What it's like to work here:Souter Lighthouse, an icon of the North-East was the first lighthouse in the world designed to use electricity. Acquired by the National Trust in 1989, the machinery is in full working order, although no longer in use as a lighthouse. Surprisingly extensive inside, the complex now houses activity rooms, a shop, café and 2 holiday cottages. Visitors can learn about life as lighthouse keeper and climb the 76 steps to the top of the tower.

What you'll be doing:The Local Partnerships Co-ordinator (Bluescapes) will be hosted by National Trust and will work from Souter Lighthouse in South Tyneside. Extensive regular travel around the SeaScapes Partnership area will be required to ensure that communities throughout the area are fully involved in the Scheme. A driving licence and use of own vehicle for work purposes is essential. A mileage allowance is paid for use of own vehicle.

This role will involve close working with key SeaScapes project partners (Durham County Council and Durham Wildlife Trust) as well as a wide variety of National Trust employees and other external delivery partners.

**The role holder will be required to**:

- Take ownership of the BlueScapes project plan and deliver key project targets
- Improve access to physical activity for excluded groups, through identifying and remove barriers to participation
- Plan and deliver a diverse, inclusive programme of activities to improve the health and wellbeing of coastal communities, with an emphasis on activities for Children and Young People, and inclusion of individuals with autism, mental health issues, physical and/or learning disabilities
- Plan to successfully engage with groups currently not accessing the coast for physical activity
- Collect and maintain participation data
- Successfully manage volunteers
- Communicate project success to internal and external stakeholders.

**Who we're looking forIdeally you'll**:

- Demonstrate a sound understanding of volunteering and be enthusiastic about promoting the benefits of great volunteer involvement and opportunities
- Be passionate and enthusiastic about working with volunteers and understand the differences between staff and volunteers, particularly the legal frameworks
- Be experienced in delivering training sessions
- Have excellent customer services and communication skills
- Have a flexible approach and be a great team player, be able to lead on and work with other people's agendas towards a common purpose
- Be well organised and attentive to detail
- Have a sound working knowledge of volunteering principles and practice
- Have strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
- Have Knowledge and experience of budget management
- Have experience of working across different sectors and developing links with other agencies.
