We are a local, family-run waste management company looking to add a Waste Technician to our team to give us more hands on deck, help us get rid of more waste and get to the next level as a business with big ideas.

About the role

The role is very hands on, disposing of commercial and domestic waste, so there’s no ‘fluffing this up’ - things can get messy. This will suit the right person, as no two days are the same. The places, properties and people we interact with are constantly changing, and we have to react in a way that helps us get the job done. Correctly and quickly.

The goals for this role include:

- Collecting, processing and disposing of waste materials:

- As safely as possible
- As quickly as possible
- As sustainably as possible
- Dealing flexibly with different environments, from domestic or commercial properties, to environmental and garden waste, including end-of-tenancy clearances, one-off items or entire area clear ups
- Being compliant in all duties including:

- Local disposal requirements
- Correct waste disposal practices
- Visiting local recycling centres
- Creating a professional and reliable impression on clients, displaying sensitivity to the situation of the waste removal and having the utmost confidentiality on every job

About you

This job requires an individual who:

- Can maintain a balance between being patient yet restless.
- Can work with routine and yet still show a sense of urgency at times.
- A current UK Driving License with less than 6 points
- Aged 30+ due to insurance reasons
- Able to work full-time (40 hours), with some weekends when projects require

Additionally, it would be beneficial if you have knowledge and/or skills in the following areas:

- Waste disposal
- Recycling
- Furniture/large item removal or moving

Salary & Benefits:
Competitive hourly rate of £11/hour

Company van

28 days holiday, including bank holidays

Possible training opportunities, ie. manual handling, first aid

Future development opportunities for the right and responsible person, ie. additional vehicle licenses (heavy goods)
