Sewell Wallis are delighted to be working with a leading manufacturing company based in Worksop who are now looking for a Buyer to join their team.
Working with the Operations Director we are looking for an enthusiastic and experience individual who will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of suppliers instructed by the Operations Director.
The role;
- All items being purchased.
- Raising of purchase orders relating to Production orders/ Purchase requisitions.
- Price negotiating.
- Regular price comparisons between selected suppliers of wire rope components.
- Ensure all purchase orders are raised and expedited from suppliers on time in accordance with production planning and order confirmations.
- Vendor performance reporting.
- Development of alternative source for critical items for business.
- Lead time indication on different suppliers.
- Purchase of right material at right time of right quality for Manufacturing.
- Resolution of disputes with Suppliers.
- Responsibility for Transport Coordinator and outgoing transport.
- Responsibility for order quantities and stock levels in conjunction with other departments.
- Operate in accordance with company authorisation policies.
- Manage a small dedicated team.
Experience required;
- Manufacturing experience (desirable)
- Project buying experience.
- ERP Experience.
- Able to deliver continuous process improvement.
- Experience managing stock levels.
