This volunteer role involves supporting staff in the running of activities on the wards at Lings Bar. You will also provide individual support to patients with dementia to help them engage with activities, conversation, and general companionship to enrich their time on the wards and allow for recovery to take place.

Ling's Bar Hospital offers rehabilitation, recovery or ongoing assessment to older adults, mainly over the age of 65, after a stay in hospital.

The hospital also provide end of life care to patients in their last few weeks of life.

Key Tasks
- Support the clinical staff team to plan and deliver activities on the weekly timetable
- Encourage and support patients to participate in a range of activities
- Embracing a conversation with patient on a 1-1 basis
- Liaising with staff to support planned individual and group activities
- Supporting the collection of feedback from the group, using Trust feedback systems
- Provide assistance to the Therapy Team to ensure that activity resources are used and stored appropriately
- Tidying up after the session
