Compass Community is an independent child care agency with Foster Care Offices, Children’s Homes and Independent Schools across England and Wales. We are looking for an enthusiastic and fast-learning self-starter to join our growing Compass Commercial Team. This role will include a mixture of home working and ideally working with the immediate team based in our Bolton office.

This role could be ideal for you if you have transferable skills gained from previous work within any of these areas; social care placements, commissioning, procurement, social care business development / account management.

**Skills & Experience required**:

- Previous experience of working in a similar sector / environment, such as:

- Procurement
- Commissioning
- Social Care Placements
- Social Care Business Development / Account Management
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective time management skills with experience of working to tight deadlines
- Strong organisational skills - ability to work effectively in a fast-paced organisation, demonstrating a positive can-do attitude
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent IT and administrative skills, including good Excel capability and experience of using management information systems/databases
- Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues and other stakeholders - working in collaboration with others
- Ability to participate and function professionally in meetings.
- Supervision of staff and management experience

Previous experience of working in a similar sector / environment would be desirable but is not essential i.e.
- Working in partnership with local authorities, social workers, senior managers and external providers
- Commercial experience - Identifying opportunities, negotiating, and commissioning new business
- Experience of analysing trends and data.

**On a day-to-day basis**:

- Identifying, reviewing, and communicating tender opportunities to the business (which includes new tender opportunities and contract re-openings / refreshes)
- Extract and provide key information about published tender opportunities, which may include Board proposal reports with recommendations
- Customer Engagement and market influencing, including active contribution to LA market engagement activity such as events and surveys
- Development and contribution to our catalogue of tender responses including high quality method statements
- Gather and analyse information which enables the team, and business at large to understand Local Authority market demand and activity
- Close working relationships with other departments to ensure understanding of our contracts and that we are fulfilling contractual obligations. This may include training and development sessions across the business
- To prepare and disseminate Contract information to other departments post-Tender Award
- A forward-looking approach for managing future contract renewals and opportunities
- Support the Commercial Manager and Commercial Director in relation to fee reviews and placement support packages
- Directly line manage and supervise a team of Commercial Officers

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £27,500.00-£32,500.00 per year
