Cleaner - St John's Medical Centre

Modality Partnership Walsall Division has a part-time vacancy (12 hours per week) for a Cleaner working Monday-Friday 4:30pm till 7pm & Wednesday 12:00pm till 2pm. The role involves performing domestic duties to maintain cleanliness and support infection control, following set protocols and timelines. Salary for this role is minimum wage in accordance to age.

**Main duties of the job**

This is a hands-on, all-round cleaning role focused on maintaining a clean and safe environment within our Modality practices. The post holder will ensure all areas including clinical rooms and public spaces are cleaned to a high standard, with particular attention to high-touch surfaces to prevent the spread of infection. Strong attention to detail is essential. The post holder will work closely with the healthcare team to support effective infection control and required cleaning schedules.

- The post holder will make sure rooms, clinical rooms, and public places are clean and hygienic which helps our patients feel better and heal faster. You'll also clean high-touch areas to stop the spread of germs.
- You need to pay attention to details and do your best to keep everything sanitised and tidy. You'll work with our healthcare team and help make sure everything runs smoothly and safely.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- The following are the core responsibilities of the cleaner. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

- Ensure where applicable areas are: Vacuumed, Damp mopped, Damp dusted, Glass and mirrors cleaned, Tiled areas washed, Painted surfaces cleaned.
- Safely empty and subsequently clean clinical and general waste bins, ensuring waste is placed in the appropriate receptacle.
- Adhere to the periodic cleaning schedule, ensuring all activities are completed.
- Use cleaning equipment in a safe and effective manner, adhering to manufacturers instructions.
- Replenish all consumable items (hand towels, toilet roll etc.) as required.
- Adhere to the colour coding system for cleaning equipment at all times, seeking appropriate guidance if required.
- Ensure all cleaning materials are stored in a safe and secure manner, adhering to COSHH, H&S and other legislative acts and guidance.
- Report any faulty equipment to line management in a timely manner.
- Report any defects found during the cleaning process to line management in a timely manner.
