We support 3 ladies with learning disabilities, who live together in one of our supported living services in Whitley Bay.
We are looking for a 17hr Support Worker to join our team of dedicated, caring, enthusiastic and friendly support workers.
As a support worker you will be supporting people in becoming as independent as possible. You will be offering reminders and providing support around administering medication, helping with personal care, and offering support with cooking healthy meals. You will also receive full training in many different aspects of support work to ensure that these ladies get the best and most positive support.
Being a support worker isn’t just about making day to day life it’s about having fun
The ladies at our service enjoy going out for lunch or coffee. They like to shop and go to the cinema. Two of the ladies love to go on day trips to places such as York, by train, and visiting the theatre.
Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. You will need to be able to work across a range of different days and shift patterns, including sleep in shifts. We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota is prepared well in advance - Got a request, something special going on? Your manager will certainly try to help you meet it.
One of the most amazing things about being a Support Worker is that anyone can do it As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.
Due to the nature of this service we are looking for female only applicants. This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.
