We are currently recruiting for a General Assistant for our Next Retail Elmsall Way in Next**
**Location: Next**
**Rate of pay: £8.91**
**Working pattern: 4 on 4 off - 28- 35 hours per week average**
**Key responsibilities and accountabilities**:
**Food Service**:
- To assist in everyday food preparation and cooking in the kitchen as and when required.
- Serve all food to the highest standard and in line with the Company style using the correct tools and presentation techniques.
- Prepare and serve all beverages in a timely manner and to Company standards.
- To set up service counters for service and keep the service areas clean, tidy and presentable in line with the Company standards.
- Clean and wash up all equipment, kitchen and service areas to comply with cleaning schedules.
- Under the guidance of your Line Manager ensure that merchandising at service counters and dining areas have products correctly priced, labelled and in date.
- Work with team members to maintain food availability during service periods.
- Assist in the cleaning and clearing of tables polishing of cutlery.
- Clean and replenish vending machines, if necessary, with change and product and deal with minor vending issues (blocked cans/incorrect loading). Report any vending issues that cannot be resolved to Line Manager.
- Assist in monthly stock take as directed.
**Customer Service**:
- Maintain a professional and friendly image with the client and customers at the relevant site.
- Attend to customer needs in a polite and helpful and friendly manner providing assistance where necessary in line with Company values.
- Provide information to customers about the food and make recommendations.
- Work with all team members in a polite and helpful way to ensure excellent customer service.
- Handle the till and cash sales accurately and to take responsibility for the security of all monies in the till and assist with cashing up procedures in line with Company standards.
**Health & Safety**:
- To understand and comply with Company and statutory health, hygiene and safety, quality standards including COSHH and HACCP ensuring all tasks are carried out in accordance these standards.
- Wear the correct uniform and safety shoes as directed and maintain uniform items appropriately.
- Report any equipment and/or building fabric faults and any hygiene, health and safety hazard to your Line manager.
**Occasional Responsibilities**:
- To attend training courses and attend Company meetings when necessary
- Assist in monthly stock take as directed.
