An established manufacturer of plastic parts for the automotive sector has undergone a restructure, and from this a new position has opened for an Logistics Manager. You will be responsible for all transport movement, inventory, lineside feeding, and packaging,plus you will be the go-to logistics specialist for customers.
They are looking for someone to join them and review their current Inventory and Materials processes and make the changes necessary to improve the function resulting in less wastage, time lost, costs and more.
You will manage a team of people including warehouse ops, materials handlers and 2 team leaders.
The team is very well established and capable and can operate with little supervision. However, there are always improvements to be made and it will be your job to work with the team to get the best out of them. Your management style should be that of ahands-on leader and with the ability to bring your team along with your ideas in a consultative way and not a my way or the highway
To do this job well you need a full understanding of Lean and CI principles and have used Kanban.
The business offers an excellent salary between £40-£50k and benefits package including 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), Contribution Pension scheme as well as long service awards, cash vouchers and more.
The business operates on rotating shifts, but this position is typically Monday to Thursday 0800-1630 with an early finish on a Friday.
