**Hours**:
As a Holiday Cover Retail Assistant, your primary role is to provide coverage for colleagues who are on annual leave. This position requires full flexibility to work any shifts from Monday through Sunday, ensuring the responsibilities and hours of the absent colleague are fully covered.

Sales Assistant Holiday Cover (Permanent)

As a Holiday Cover Retail Assistant, your primary role is to provide coverage for colleagues who are on annual leave. This position requires full flexibility to work any shifts from Monday through Sunday, ensuring the responsibilities and hours of the absent colleague are fully covered.

This is a salaried position based on 20 hours per week. As a holiday cover role, your actual hours worked will fluctuate depending on who is on holiday.
- When covering for someone on holiday, your hours could increase, sometimes up to 37 hours per week (e.g., if covering for a manager).
- If no one is on holiday, your hours could be as low as zero, although this is a rare occurrence.

Regardless of how many hours you work, you will still receive pay based on a 20-hour workweek. (NB hours will be deducted from your salary for any personal absences)

Example Daytime shifts = 6.55am - 3pm

Example Evening shifts = 3pm - 10.35pm

Over the year we will ensure you have worked no more that 1040 hours pro rata. Regular reports are supplied to keep records up to date.

Must be over 18. National Minimum Wage applies.

All positions require flexibility to work extra when covering sickness and holidays.

**Job Role**: As a Sales Assistant you will ensure that the store is well stocked, clean and tidy and give fantastic customer service.

**Salary (from April 1st 2024)**:
18 - 20 = £8.60 per hour

21+ = £11.44 per hour

**Responsibilities**:
Till operation in line with the company procedures, great accuracy with till scanning.

Provide great customer service.

Till Point Selling

Ensure that the stock is replenished at a good pace, and faced up to a high standard at all times.

Ensure correct pricing of products and stock rotation.

Daily Tasks Completion to maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety.

Follow Company Policy and Procedures at all times.

Be able to work off your own initiative to keep yourself busy, and ensure all tasks completed.

Also be able to work as part of a team to maximise efficiency during a shift.

Adhere to the Challenge 25 Policy for Serving Alcohol and age restricted products.

Be confident enough to deal with shoplifters

Flexibility to work extra when covering sickness and holidays.

Stores covered by role are Bargain Booze, 339-341 Redbank Rd, Bispham and Bargain Booze 103 Victoria Rd West, Cleveleys.

**Essential skills or experience**:
1) Ability to provide excellent customer service, ideally with experience in Licensed/Food Retail.

2) Till experience and cash handling skills.

3) Flexible to cover shifts for sickness and holidays
