Liverpool, United Kingdom PSS Full time

**About us**:
At PSS, we’ve got an important job to do; and that’s to help people make the most of their lives, no matter what life throws at them. Whether you’re working directly with the people who use our services, or behind the scenes in one of our offices, every day you’ll be helping to make other people feel happier, healthier and more supported.

We’re a social enterprise or, as we like to call it - a ‘business with a heart’. This means that all the money we make goes back into finding new ways to help people. Our aim is simple; we want to help people change their lives for the better - no matter what life throws at them. We’ve got offices across Merseyside, Wales, Yorkshire, Manchester and the Midlands, where we’re making our stamp. The Prisoner's Families service is based in Liverpool, in our brand spanking new Head Office, Eleanor Rathbone House.

**What’s our Prisoner's Families service all about?**
- **‘**_To bring a family back together and to help a family to stay together and to move forward, you need the most amazing team in the whole world _

Our Prisoner's Families service bring people together who’ve experienced the devastating reality that substance misuse and/or imprisonment has on the whole family. They work with children, parents and grandparents. They get to know families in a safe environment, where they can find new strength and encouragement and support them to cope better with all that they’ve been through. It’s about helping them to see a shinier, happier new future. That’s what everyone deserves, after all.
- ‘I wouldn’t have managed without PSS, I wouldn’t have known where to go. The staff are fantastic, consistent, kindThey never pressurise, they’re never nosey and they don’t miss a trick’. _**Jane
- a Grandparent who uses our service.**

Our team are genuine, big-hearted, open-minded, determined and professional.

If you think this sounds like you, we’ve got some big (but very humble) shoes to fill as a family worker on our Prisoner's families team.

**What you’ll do**:
As a family worker, you’ll have a very hands-on role, ensuring our service delivery is superb.
- You’ll work with the whole family on a one to one basis and in supportive peer groups, listening to their problems and finding strategies for them to manage their lives better together.
- You’ll be attuned to the biggest, most important issues and respond to your caseload accordingly, making sure that problems are resolved and people feel supported.
- You’ll build positive relationships with families, understanding their needs and establishing their trust for the benefit of the whole family.
- You’ll keep a firm eye on the detailed stuff
- making sure you’re hitting your targets, we’re responding to crucial organisational aims, we’re aware of broader social objectives and we’re always keeping the people we support safe at all times.
- You’ll see the big picture and support our service to grow, working with partner agencies, promoting what we do and seeing the need for change and development wherever possible.

Think you’re built of the right mix of unparalleled passion for people and a determined desire to develop and grow?

Please note a driving license is also required for this role

Before you apply, we just want to let you know some key information about our selection process.

Once you click to apply, you’ll be taken to our external recruitment platform called 'Applied'. Applied are the only hiring software with diversity and fairness built into every step of the process and we’re very proud to partner with them to help us deliver a non-bias recruitment experience.

Once you register your details on the site, you’ll be asked for your EDI information such as your age, gender, ethnicity etc. You’ll also be asked questions around whether your parents went to university and whether you had free meals at school which help them to measure socio-economic factors. These questions are set by Applied experts based on extensive research and expertise and you can find out more about this here.

If you still prefer not to answer, that’s no problem at all as there’s also an option to select ‘prefer not to say’.

The only EDI related information that we will see about you is if you tell us that you have any reasonable adjustments needed at any part of our process.

We also welcome any feedback you might have about our approach so there’ll be plenty of opportunities for you to give this as part of the process.
