1. The Support and Delivery Centre is part of Health and Care Research Wales, funded by the Research and Development (R&D) Division within Welsh Government. The Support and Delivery Centre works in support of Welsh Government’s overarching vision which is to be internationally recognised for our excellent health and social care research that has a positive impact on the health, wellbeing, and prosperity of the people in Wales.

The Support and Delivery Centre’s role is to facilitate the implementation of Welsh Government policies by providing centralised support functions and services for the health and social care research community in Wales. This includes an NHS R&D Funding, Finance and Contracts service. The Research Funding, Finance and Contracts Officer will play a critical part in the Funding, Finance and Contracts service, providing advice and support to a wide range of stakeholders, including NHS R&D office and delivery staff as well as researchers based in universities and the non-NHS settings across Wales and the rest of the UK
1. The post holder will act as the first point of contact in the Support and Delivery Centre for queries relating to research funding, finance and contracts and will ensure the effective and efficient day to day running of the research funding, finance and contracts service on behalf of the Support and Delivery Centre. The role will include:
Providing support, advice and guidance on research funding, finance and contracting to stakeholders, including NHS R&D offices, delivery staff and sponsors (commercial and non-commercial)

Supporting in the implementation and management of a wide range of processes, policies and guidance’s related to R&D funding, finance and contracts

Supporting in the management and review of a wide range of research funding budgets and contracts

Support the Health and Care Research Wales infrastructure in the completion of UK-wide tools and templates in relation to R&D Funding, Finance and Contracts.

Support in the development of training packages related to research funding, finance and contracts

TheHealth and Care Research WalesSupport & Delivery Centre is hosted by Powys Teaching Health Board which is one of Wales’s seven health boards, and funded by Welsh Government. Our headquarters is in Cardiff but we have offices across Wales. The post holder will have a base in one of the Cardiff, Brecon or Bangor offices (confirmed on recruitment) but will also be able to work from home.
