You'll play a key role in evolving the visitor experience, engaging with visitors and the raising the profile of Claydon within the portfolio which also includes Stowe Landscape Gardens, Buckingham Chantry Chapel, Long Crendon Courthouse, Boarstall Towerand Boarstall Duck Decoy.

What it's like to work here As part of our dynamic team, you'll help to shape and influence the future direction of one of the Trust’s most significant portfolios. Focussing primarily on Claydon, you'll work collaboratively with colleagues to develop the visitor offer inside and outsidethe house, extend the season, and explore programming opportunities. During the winter months when Claydon is closed, you'll focus on planning, support project work and other properties in the portfolio.

What you'll be doing
- You'll help to identify engaging stories from Claydon’s four-hundred-year history and turn these stories into memorable visitor experiences showcasing collection items in our care. You'll be focussing on access and relevance by addressing themes, tone ofvoice and the content of tours. You’ll work with the house team to understand our spirit of place, ensuring high standards of presentation and service as part of the portfolio's visitor experience team.
- You'll work with the Visitor Experience Manager to ensure every aspect of the visitor experience is shaped by our collection and delivers an exceptional experience to everyone every time.
- With an impressive collection, inspiring landscape and centuries of history, there’s plenty to fire your imagination and deliver outstanding interpretation.
- You'll be part of a broader team responsible for delivering great service to visitors. Presence, visibility and visitor welcome are key elements of this role.
- You'll enable a broad range of visitors to have outstanding and inspirational experiences through the consistent quality of our welcome and visitor experience, organised operational planning and the high standards of presentation and interpretation.

Who we're looking for This job is all about providing a service. To be fantastic in this role, you’ll need to;
- Experience of delivering inspirational engagement activities
- Have good people skills, enabling good working relationships with those in your team and across the property
- Understanding of how to interpret significant collections to varied audiences.
- Excellent organisational skills, and the ability to time manage projects successfully
- Have good interpersonal skills, able to deal with visitors in a variety of situations
- Have a flexible customer focused approach with experience in delivering high standards of customer service
- Experience of working with and supervising volunteers
- Empathy with aims of the National Trust, with genuine interest and knowledge of the work of the Trust
