To contribute to the delivery of high-quality assessment, diagnosis and intervention to people with a Learning Disability and their carers including both communication and dysphagia/swallowing support and health improvement. To be involved in specialist multi-disciplinary assessment (including gathering and analysing case history information) and care packages. To identify, develop and deliver training packages appropriate to the audience need. To identify, develop and implement therapy resources and low-tech communication aids (e.g.
communication passports, photo resources, symbol timetables, visual topic boards etc.) following clinical assessment, which involves making judgements about what is required, appropriate and achievable. To plan, organise and manage own workload in order to complete tasks in a timely manner. To use good word processing skills to create accessible information resources. To be able to use specialist software packages to programme communication aids and to create symbol resources.
To independently programme and edit different software packages used in high tech communication voice output devices and iPad apps
