The Engine yard at Belvoir castle is an amazing array of retail and hospitality buildings, designed by the Duchess of Rutland - we are now looking at opening our estate butchers and farm shop in the engine yard which will sell meats from the estate, wonderful deli items and have a wide selection of local and regional suppliers we are supporting, who will supply, kitchen cupboard items, wine and spirits, food gifting and much more wonderful goodies.

We are currently recruiting for a Farm shop assistant to work within the Farm Shop reporting to the Farm Shop Manager. You will have a passion for service and artisan, seasonal & local produce.

The role is to provide excellent customer service by attending to customers’ needs in a prompt and courteous manner, to promote sales, contribute to an efficient and co-operative working environment, assist the store management team in minimising stock losses by insuring correct stock handling procedures, stock date rotation and stock date checking.

Duties & responsibilities
- Inform his/her leader about any issues affecting health & safety, food safety and due diligence policies
- Understand the importance of stock control and strive to minimise all areas of stock loss
- Ensure the highest standard of customer service aiding customers with all queries in a polite and friendly manner
- To keep up to date with all store promotions, offers & competitions
Operate the tills with accuracy
- Rotate stock in accordance with company guidelines
Record all wastage accurately
- Merchandise stock efficiently in all areas
- Undertake cleaning duties as required in all areas of the shop
- To be fully competent on completing all shop paperwork
- Strong organisational skills.
- An idea of what high quality service looks like
- Basic maths skills and being literate in English is important
- Ability to use computer systems.
- You must be health and safety aware
- Confident and willing to work a high calibre
- Ability to work as part of a team.
