Are you an experienced Health and Safety professional looking for your next career move? We have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager to join our team and oversee Health and Safety operating procedures within a large manufacturing environment.
Hillarys are part of the Hunter Douglas group, so you’ll be helping to develop and nurture the Health and Safety strategy across multiple manufacturing sites across the UK, ensuring all procedures and policies are up to date against any legislative changesand in line with any Health and Safety compliance and/or best practice. You’ll be responsible for planning and executing improvement projects to eliminate non-conformances, whilst identifying root causes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of systemsand processes to meet the needs of the business.
You’ll need to be a clear and confident communicator with a collaborative approach to implementation, as you’ll be working with multiple stakeholders from around the business, conducting regular inspections, providing training to develop a safety first culturewithin sites and advising Directors on all safety, health and welfare matters to ensure the company complies with its statutory obligations. As Health and Safety Manager, you’ll be the company representative in external audits by regulatory and standards inspectionbodies, such as HSE.
Experience in a Health, Safety and Environmental field is key for this role, with a NEBOSH General Qualification or equivalent (IOSH) and a Diploma in Health & Safety. Self-sufficient with a keen eye for detail, you’ll have the drive and assertion to makeimprovements, ensure quality standards and recommend control measures in line with legislation. This role has one direct report, and requires regular visits to our manufacturing sites, so you’ll need to have a UK driving license and be flexible around travellingto various locations across the UK.
