**Estimator | Dartford with positions available in Uckfield | 8:00am - 5:00pm | £50,000 - £85,000**

Our client is looking for Estimators to work on earthworks, infrastructure, civils and groundworks.

**Are you the right person for the job?**
- Must hold a full UK driving licence
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Estimating role or a strong background in operations and construction
- Earthworks, Groundworks and Infrastructure experience
- Good understanding of the NEC/JCT suites of contracts
- Ability to achieve tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate at all levels, both verbally and written

**What will your role as an Estimator look like?**
- Preparation of estimates and tenders at each stage of the project
- Prepare work to be estimated by gathering construction documents, specifications, and other related documents
- Analyse drawings and specifications
- Develop accurate estimates utilising available software such as Conquest/Estimate and Excel
- Utilising other available tools, industry and estimating best practices
- Take responsibility, under minimum supervision, for the bid preparation, completion, and submission
- Attend tender adjudications
- Be able to produce/manage complex/large tenders
- Build up estimates through a selection of first principles: people, plants, materials, and subcontract costs
- Engage with clients to understand their needs, resolve queries, provide confidence in the company’s approach, and confirm understanding of tender submissions
- Sourcing quotations for both sub-contractors and supply chain
- Calculation of site management and preliminary costs
- Participate in contract appraisals and adjudications
- Ability to produce outline method statements and programmes
- Ensure proper handover of the tender to the project delivery team in accordance with company standards and procedures
- To work alongside the operational and commercial teams to maximise opportunities and minimise risks to achieve the best possible project costs
- Provide clear detailed quantity take offs
- Organise sub-contractor’s quotations, and negotiate to ensure quotes meet contract documents
- Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labour costing
- Formulate cost breakdown from estimates and for project progress
- Attend necessary pre, mid and post bid tender interviews
