Despatch Operative

**Reporting to the Department Manager**

To assemble wooden cases and secure large items of manufactured parts ensuring that the packed item meets all customer requirements such as dimensional, visual, packaging and marking. Based onsite in Bredbury - Stockport - UK.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Follow packing instructions in a timely manner to meet shipping deadlines, ensuring that item is correctly boxed and labelled
- Load/unload vehicles in a safe manner ensuring a safe working environment and transport resources are utilized appropriately.
- Liaise with Logistics schedulers to ensure coordination of instructions and maintain delivery promises
- General labouring duties

- Crane driving/slinging/manual handling/forklift competency
- Effective Communication

**Accountabilities and Performance Measures**:

- Ensure goods are packed in a timely manner to adhere to collection schedules

**Job Requirements Qualifications**:

- Must have experience driving Forklift
- Previous experience of working in an engineering environment
- Understanding of job scheduling/date priorities.
- Sound understanding of H&S procedures
