To work under the direction of the Chief Finance Officer to organise and deliver financial and business support within the school.

**Client Details**

My client is an academy based in Worcester.

**Description**
- To take responsibility for financial transactions within the College, including purchase orders, invoicing, BACS payments and petty cash
- To ensure receipt, safekeeping and banking of all money received by the College (including via ParentPay)
- To co-ordinate the purchase of goods and supplies, ensuring that the College obtains best possible value for money from suppliers and contractors
- To undertake monthly bank reconciliations and month-end adjustments
- To assist the Chief Finance Officer with the timely production and issue of financial reports, cash flow forecasts and returns as required
- To assist the Chief Finance Officer with the preparation of monthly financial reports for presentation to the Headteacher and the Governing Body as required
- To ensure the College maintains an up to date asset register.
- To prepare for audits and monitoring visits
- To learn and comply with the College's Financial Processes and Procedures as per the Finance Policy and support ensuring they are adhered to
- To maintain finance filing systems, ensuring that records are suitable for audit purposes
- To support the Chief Finance Officer and the other Finance Officer, as required, with preparation of the annual budget for approval by the Governing Body
- To assist the Chief Finance Officer to achieve the most competitive pricing for goods and services in compliance with current and relevant procurement legislation
- To assist the Chief Finance Officer in managing and monitoring contracts, tenders and agreements for the provision of services to the College, to ensure that services are delivered to a high quality and support the operation of the College
- To assist the Chief Finance Officer in the input and management of the monthly payroll and monitoring
- Working with the Chief Finance Officer, to monitor service level agreements and contracts to ensure effectiveness of delivery and value for money, negotiating more favourable terms where possible
- Undertake any other reasonable request made by Headteacher and Chief Finance Officer

**Profile**

Double entry accounting experience

Effective communication skills and able to communicate effectively with non-financial staff and external suppliers

Be a team player

Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines

Be self motivated and able to use own initiative

Be methodical with a good attention to detail

Experience of working in a busy finance office with knowledge of purchase ledger and accounts receivable procedures

Experience in working with computerised financial systems and good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel (pivot tables, Vlookup) and Outlook

Experience of working in a school environment (Desirable)
