**We are looking for a **Relief Support Worker **to join our Services based in Westwood, Peterborough, supporting a Gentleman within the Community. This role can be designed to suit your circumstances and fit around you**

If you are new to working in care or looking to expand your knowledge and learn new skills this might just be the role for you This is a busy but fun Service where you will be working alongside a fantastic team of friendly Support Workers who will help to ensure you are welcomed and receive a full induction.

**About the Service**

***Currently we support a young man, to access the local community to enable respite for his family.

We need someone that has experience with Mental Health and is able to help the current team to provide, 1 to 1 support across the week.

A car driver with business insurance is required, all mileage is paid for through our expenses system of 45 pence per mile.

**Support Shifts are**:
Monday and Tuesday - 12 to 4 to access local activities of interest in Peterborough. Playing darts, bowling and ice skating, looking around various shops or accessing a local restaurant.

Thursday, Friday, Sunday 11:30 to 20:30 when he likes to be taken to Corby Adrenaline Alley Skate Park to use his Skateboard, to In-line skates or to use his scooter.

**What does a Support Worker do?**

As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:

- **Supporting people to live independently** - budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
- **Relationship building **- supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- **Community & Social Inclusion** - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
- **Personal care** - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
