This post is for a Band 6 Deputy Sister

The role will involve supporting the Departmental Sister in the running of both the Gynaecology Outpatients and the Gynaecology Diagnostic Suite. You will be involved in managing a samll team of your own, carrying out their yearly appraisals, ther well being and their sickness absence management interviews.

Clinically you will be involved in supporting all the services the unit offers such as hysteroscopy for routine and two week wait patients, colposcopy treatments for both two week wait and urgnet referrals. The fertility team carry out tubal patency checks on this unit and so do the urogynaecology team. The role will involve supporting staff in both areas and facilitiating the clinics we run across them.

Managing the staff and services in the absence of the unit Sister during periods of annual leave and days off.

**The job will involve**:
supporting the unit Sister to run efficiant and effective services, staff leave and safe staffing issues.

managing your own small team with appraisals, sickness absence management discussions and well being needs etc

facilitating the services we provide in both the diagnostic suite and the gynaecology out patients.

working with service managers to ensure we have the right staff for the clinics we are being asked to facilitate in order to keep staff and patients safe.

GYNAECOLOGY DIAGNOSTIC SUITE AND OUTPATIENT DEPARTMENT

BAND 6 Deputy Sister

30 Hours per week

If you have an interest in Women’s Health, are flexible and self motivated, then we would like to hear from you. A Band 6 Deputy Sisters post has become available in our busy diagnostic suite and out patient departments. If you want to work within a supportive and challenging environment assisting the doctors to provide care for women with a wide range of gynaecological conditions then this could be the position for you.

You will be expected to work as part of a team in order to assist the doctors with diagnostic procedures and facilitate the efficient running of clinics. You will required to assist in the running of specialised clinics such a our 2 week wait hysteroscopy, vulval and pelvic mass clinics, our colposcopy clinics supporting clinicians carry out treatments following abnormal smears and our general gynaecology clinics that include urogynaecology and endometriosis clinics. This role covers a wide variety of services within women’s health. You will be part of the nursing team to support the department sister in the running of the unit. You will assist in the maintenance of the patient environment in terms of cleanliness, tidiness, auditing, and the restocking and ordering of supplies. You will be part of the team also supporting our Pre op assessment nurses to carry out assessments on our patients that fit certain criteria following out patient hysteroscopy being booked for general anaesthetic.
