**Board Member appointments: Highland NHS Board**:
NHS Highland is looking for two new members to join its Board.

NHS Highland’s catchment area comprises the largest and most sparsely populated part of the UK. It is responsible for meeting the health needs of around 320,000 people living in the area, and provides a comprehensive range of primary, community-based and acute hospital services for the population.

As a non-executive member of this Board, you will have a key role in supporting the delivery of the organisation’s strategic direction in addition to contributing to scrutinising performance, and discharging governance and accountability functions. You will be offered the training you need to make a strong contribution.

**Remuneration and time commitment**: Remuneration is £9,030 per annum (non-pensionable) for a time commitment of one day per week. Reasonable expenses incurred will be reimbursed.

**Location**: The Board offices are based at Assynt House, Beechwood Park, Inverness. The meetings of the Board and its committees will normally be held virtually, although some development work may be held in person in locations across the Board area.

**Interviews**:Interviews will be held on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 October and will be conducted via MS Teams.

Skills/Experience Required:

As a member of this Board, you will not only need to have the right skills, knowledge and experience for the role, but also be able to demonstrate behaviour aligned to these values.

For these positions you must be able to demonstrate that you meet **at least one** of the following **priority criteria **which are of particular importance to NHS Highland at this time:

- Experience of organisational improvement through innovation
- People management experience

As well as the values and priority criteria highlighted above you will also need to be able to demonstrate the following:

- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to contribute effectively to the decision making of the Board

For
**one** of the posts, we are also seeking someone who has a current knowledge of the opportunities and challenges of the diverse geography of the Argyll and Bute area.

You do not need to be an expert in health or have previous experience of being on a Board. We are looking for people who have the capacity and commitment to develop their skills and to learn new skills they may require.
