**About me**:
Our Service User is very much an individual. She has a range of issues to contend with, including limited mobility, limited communication, food intolerances and cognitive delays. Some people find her behaviour to be challenging, but it is driven by the difficulties she must contend with and she is not being “naughty.” In fact, we find her delightful.

Our Service User is almost entirely non-verbal but will try to communicate through limited Makaton, body signs, gestures, sounds and some words, that those who know her and listen carefully can identify. She has a strong sense of her own identity and likes to have control over her environment. She understands much more than one might think, but she has a cognitive processing delay of up to 20 seconds. Those who are patient with communications and make the effort to explain all that is happening around her, will be rewarded with a beautiful smile and infectious laughter.

Our Service User engages in a range of activities swimming, trampolining, skiing, surfing, art and craft, cookingHer current team members have the flexibility to support the activities that they most enjoy doing with her. Our service user is supported 2 to 1 on outings that involve any car journeys.
