Job Title: Delivery Manager
Pay Rate: Negotiable
Location: Luton
Contract Length: 6 months
*Overall responsibility for technology delivery to agreed timescales and budget.
*Production and maintenance of validated delivery plans and milestones.
*Production and maintenance of validated budgets and regular liaison with Finance to review budget status.
*Ensuring appropriate tracking metrics are captured to enable progress to be always monitored and visible
*Ensuring all design, quality and security governance processes are followed in line with the direction set out by Strategy and Architecture
*Ensuring all delivery artefacts are created and maintained throughout the delivery lifecycle.
*Ensuring all risks and issues are captured, tracked and appropriate actions taken
*Production of appropriate status reporting and Steering Committee material to be consumed by a diverse range of stakeholders
*Primary point of contact with the Enterprise Portfolio and Change function.
*Primary point of contact for Service Management supporting the activities of service design and service transition
*Leading the collaborative, dynamic planning process; prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team
*Identification of conflicts and dependencies between initiatives and resolving these via liaison with fellow managers
*Continuously drives process improvements both internal in Technology and in the wider IT community
*Has a clear focus to deliver results, working to targets, reviewing progress and adapting their plans, accordingly, motivating themselves/the team to achieve.
*Understands business and external environment, is cost conscious and understands the longer-term perspective and implications of decisions.
Skills required:
*Experience of successfully working with Architecture, Development, Test and Infrastructure teams to deliver Enterprise scale technical change
*Proven end-to-end Software/System Programme Delivery experience
*In depth understanding of software development principles e.g. different lifecycle models, structured methodologies, coding standards, their importance and the benefits they bring
*A practical knowledge of IT technologies and working practices
*Ability to understand and challenge the architecture and implementation when needed
*Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and challenges to non-technical audiences
*Ability to recognise and intercept challenges early based on metrics and delivery experience
*Proven stakeholder management skills
*Experienced in management and influencing in a matrix organisation
*The ability to form strong, mutual and professional business relationships with external partners and suppliers
*Management of multi-million-pound budgets
*A good knowledge and understanding of total cost of ownership of IT assets and functions and the ability to present and manage trade-offs
