Howden C of E Infant School are looking for an individual who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of young people to join our friendly and dedicated team, providing in-class support for a pupil with High - Level Special Educational Needs.

The working hours are from 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday during the school term. Your actual salary will be £17,664.81 per annum, and this is paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. This is a fixed term position until 31st August 2025.

**Key Responsibilities**

The key responsibilities associated with this role include:
Facilitating the individual pupil's physical, emotional and educational development by:

- clarifying and explaining instructions
- ensuring the pupil is able to use equipment and materials provided; Including, moving and handling to meet a child’s individual needs
- assisting in identified areas, e.g. language, behaviour, reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting/presentation, the use of ICT, social skills and EAL etc
- helping pupils to concentrate on, and finish work set
- meeting the physical and personal care needs of pupils as required, whilst encouraging independence where appropriate
- liaising with the class teacher and SENCO about individual needs
- developing appropriate resources to support the pupil(s)
