Financial Apprentice

Our client are a leading Manufacturing company, based in Cramlington and they are looking to recruit a Financial Apprentice to join their Finance department.
The purpose of the role is to assist and support the Finance Department and the overall business with timely day-to-day accounting, reporting, systems and controls.
Building relationships with both internal and external people is an essential part of this role.
Main duties include:
- Key tasks and responsibilities - support the Assistant Accountant & Financial Controller with day-to-day accounting, reporting, systems and controls, to include but not limited to:
Purchase Ledger
Action non-PO approval flow within ERP system.
Deal with queries effectively and efficiently
Action Master Data process for new suppliers /changes to supplier’s details.
Other Ad-hoc P/L activities as required.
Management Accounting
Daily system checks
Maintain sales data mapping.
Prepare and submit customer profitability analysis.
Prepare and maintain the Company’s OEE and productivity information.
Other Ad-hoc M/A activities as required.
Financial Accounting
Ensure all required financial transactions (i.e. accruals, prepayments, CapEx, etc.) are processed accurately and timely, in order to meet internal and external requirements.
Ensure on time month end reporting, preparation and submission.
Action Master Data process for new customers /changes to customer’s details.
Submission of National Statistics Data
Ensure compliance with the relevant Company’s internal controls environment. Maintain, test and update accordingly.
Other Ad-hoc F/A activities as required.
Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHSE) - actively support and align decisions and actions with OHSE requirements.
Demonstrate meaningful involvement by integrating OHSE into day-to-day life.
Actively participate in all OHSE training.
Ensure compliance with best practice, legislative requirements, and all company’s initiatives in relation to Health and Safety.
Support and carry out risks assessments and inform your Line Manager of any new activity that needs to be performed within the area.
Housekeeping - Maintain levels of housekeeping and hygiene as expected and defined by the company.
Take part in 6S activities as required and ensure your working area is always clean and safe
Quality systems / Compliance - Operate within/to prescribed quality standards and systems at all times, as defined by the Company and customer requirements. Prepare and maintain information and records in order to satisfy regulatory and company reporting requirements.
Paperwork - Ensure that all paperwork is completed as and when required whilst maintaining prescribed levels of accuracy.
Support the improvement of internal controls by participating in the development of SOPs, reference documents and forms.
Participate, as required, in audits (internal or external).
Flexibility - Maintain a flexible approach to work. Be prepared to undertake other tasks within the finance function, providing the relevant training has been given.
Continuous improvement - Actively engage in Continuous improvement, either within personal performance or participating in Continuous improvement initiatives at the site.
Training - Support development of co-workers through their own training and participate actively in training programmes as and when required.
**Requirements**:
- Required: GCSE A-C (4+) Passes in Mathematics & English as a minimum.
- Desirable: Relevant A Level / NVQ in basic Accounting / book-keeping
