**Summary**
We are looking for an Assistant Systems Accountant to join our finance team at the Harris Federation head office in Croydon.
The successful applicant for this role will be a strong communicator and enjoy the challenge of new systems and processes.
We are in a transitory time at Harris. You will become a change lead in the largest business transformation that Harris has experienced. All existing finance systems will be replaced over the next two years.
The immediate team is small, but synergetic and makes a daily difference for the wider Finance Community.
Half of the role focuses on coaching people on Finance processes through systems. The other half is centred around system maintenance and development, including:
- user access and support
- system maintenance
- developing training material
- system development projects

Our central team comprises a dedicated, driven group of departments working centrally to provide support across the Federation and all of our academies. Across a multitude of key departments, we maintain an outstanding body of staff all integral to supporting central and academy finance, HR, Data, Estates management, Talent and many more.
**Main Areas of Responsibility**
The purpose of your role will be:
- To train the Finance Community to a certain level of understanding across Finance systems and processes through a training and networking programme.
- To work with the other Finance Systems Team to develop the development roadmap and communication, including business wide system projects.
- To deliver first point of contact finance systems support for new and existing finance staff first and second line queries.
- To maintain system access across the academy network on all relevant Finance systems, including remote access needs.
Your main areas of responsibility will be:
- To create and deliver an annual training and communication programme for the finance community. This is a mix of in person, digital training material and networking events delivered across the year.
- To identify process and system pain points, and feed back into the Finance development roadmap and communication with Finance.
- To support and maintain the Finance Systems (IRIS PS Financials, SAP Concur Invoice, Orovia BPS) to satisfy business requirements.
- To support system user experience, which includes user access maintenance, system installations for new finance users and general queries.
- To support the system requirements associated with the BACS process and weekly statement feeds.
All the Finance Systems Team will be involved in the Business Transformation project, which will include design through to UAT cycles, change management and training actions to support adoption.
You will be expected to support business continuity across the Finance Systems department during holidays and sickness, so you will be provided with training and handover sessions to facilitate.
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Prior experience working within a finance setting
- Experience of supporting and maintaining systems and system infrastructure
- Experience of supporting system end users either in a helpdesk or training capacity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Strong IT skills
Ideally, you will also have:
- Worked within the education sector
- Created and delivered mix media training programme
- Delivered process or system improvements
- ERP implementation experience
- Part of a service delivery team on an ERP system
- Trained end users on an ERP system
