Warehouse Assistant

London's largest contemporary furniture showroom is looking to hire an experienced Warehouse Assistant who thinks on his feet and is committed to doing what it takes to deliver an exceptional experience for our customers.

Warehouse Assistant duties and responsibilities
- Receiving, packing, handling and shipping tasks.
- Ensuring that all goods loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork
- Taking responsibility for air or sea freight by supporting with crating of goods
- Creating crates for deliveries which we will sent by air or sea.
- (Training to be provided by fitters to achieve this skillset)
- Storing and rotating stock according to established procedures
- Being able to facilitate storage of items which are not due to be delivered immediately
- Creating spaces in order to not move items once in the warehouse
- Creating an inventory of goods due in to collate jobs together
- Reporting any damaged or missing goods to Warehouse Managers
- Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment
- Weekly ordering of stock i.e tea coffee tissues water and wet wipes
- Whiteboard to be updated daily for new tasks
- Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods
- Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules
- Assisting with warehouse inventory controls, which typically involves using a computer
- Treating merchandise with care and concern at all times
- Verifying the correct product counts for packages received from visiting suppliers
- Preparing products or return merchandise for shipment
- Operating pump trucks to move products or to store them within a warehouse
- Sending and Returning display and promotional materials back and to the warehouse from the showroom
- Relaying and documenting productivity along with loss prevention steps to Warehouse Managers
- Performing routine maintenance checks of the warehouse area and performing cleanup or simple repair duties when needed
- Work as an active team member to complete team goals

**Warehouse Assistant Requirements and Qualifications**
- Pior Full-time experience in a warehouse environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with inventory software, and able to upload data into the company system
- Able to work independently
- Pays attention to detail and monitors the quality of inventory
- Highly organized and able to store items efficiently
