Head of Operations and Security

We have an opportunity for the right person to join the Frontier Technology Team, based at home but with an expectation for travel to our sites. We are seeking a Head of Operations and Security to join us on a permanent basis. This role joins our Technology team senior leadership group.

You will be concerned with protecting the quality of the customer experience through managing the monitoring and performance of our production facing IT systems and by devising and leading all aspects of our IT system security.

- Previous experience of leading teams overseeing the operation and governance of IT systems in production required
- Previous experience of leading teams to implement and oversee robust security strategies and practices required
- Previous experience of selecting and implementing production service operational monitoring systems preferred
- You will have broad experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development
- You will understand the software development / system lifecycle and have worked within Agile and/or SAFE environments
- Hands-on experience with SOC and SIEM technologies, IDS/IPS network and host based firewall technologies and anti-virus solutions
- Demonstrable experience in industry standard security models
- Demonstrable experience in building service standards and aligning ITIL models to agile development operations
- Experience of building and leading teams preferred
- Experience of leading in an ITIL model preferred
- Confident and demonstrates leadership and analytical skills
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must

**The role - Key responsibilities**
- Developing a security strategy and roadmap for delivering security improvements
- Developing and managing the operational process for systems in production
- Developing plans for, driving the selection of and management of production monitoring systems
- Working with service and development operations teams to ensure changes are fit for release into production
- Responsible for building and leading the security department and devising and leading our security approach
- Accountable for the relationship with and activities of security service partners
- Defining and managing the operations and security team budget
- Devising and Maintaining documentation on operation and security practice
- Leading the work and career management of production and security lead roles
- Building strong relationships throughout the Technology senior leadership team, the wider technology team and the Business
- Managing and defining controls for 3rd party vendor risks
- Managing security incidents and managing and updating security response plans
- Designing and managing the incident process for all technology systems in production
- Overseeing and reporting on the incident process in production
- Creating business cases to justify further investment in operations and cyber security initiatives
- Implementing, managing, updating and acting in accordance with Frontier’s information security and information governance policies.
- Identifying changing threat models and vulnerabilities and implementing appropriate risk-based responses
- Ensuring Information Security and Cyber risks are captured and managed
- Undertaking and reporting on regular information security audit/access control checks as required
- Devising and producing reports on the health and operational performance of systems in production
- Responsibility for risk and compliance assessments, including penetration tests and approaches, forming robust risk mitigation plans as required
