**The Company**
The Events Company is an event management agency based in Redditch, south of Birmingham. We have been creating, managing and delivering events for over 20 years across the UK and Europe. We work with a large variety of clients and deliver a wide array of events from conferences, gala dinners and award ceremonies to team building and corporate fun days.
**The Role**
We are seeking a driven, self-motivated, and highly organised individual to manage our operations department and support in the delivery of large, complex event projects and client accounts.
At The Events Company, we provide exceptional service from conception through to delivery. Applicants must have experience in organising live events and impeccable attention to detail.
Your role will involve working with our sales team to ensure our events are delivered seamlessly. As Head of Operations, you will be responsible for daily operations, strategic planning and management, and upholding the companies processes and health and safety policy, and alignment of our business objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Event Planning & Coordination**
- Develop comprehensive event plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Work with the event logistics teams to coordinate all logístical aspects of events, including venue selection, catering, transportation, and audiovisual requirements.
- Analyse workflows and implement improvements to maximise productivity and reduce costs.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to secure favourable terms and ensure high-quality services.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
**Team Management**
- As part of the senior leadership team, you will make and implement management decisions.
- Supervise department managers and team leaders to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate staff performance, providing coaching and development opportunities.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
- Implement & monitor productivity targets and KPIs.
**Event Execution**
- Lead and manage on-site event operations, including setup, execution, and breakdown of event activities.
- Ensure all event elements are implemented according to plan, maintaining a high standard of quality and professionalism.
- Supervise event staff, volunteers, and contractors, providing clear instructions and support as needed.
- Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during events, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for attendees.
- Monitor event progress and make real-time adjustments as necessary to meet objectives and exceed expectations.
**Logistics & Warehouse Management**
- Manage and lead the logistics team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of event logistics.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to support event goals and objectives.
- Oversee the procurement and management of event supplies, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols during event setup and execution.
- Manage warehouse operations and ensure that all stock is regularly maintained and listed on CRM system, and it’s kept up to date.
**Compliance & Risk Management**
- Design, implement, and optimise operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity across the company.
- Lead initiatives to improve operations efficiencies to ensure the seamless execution of events.
- Establish and enforce health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and public, and that we comply with current regulations to mitigate risk.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve communication and coordination.
**Post-Event Evaluation**
- Conduct & monitor post-event evaluations to assess the effectiveness and success of events and the team’s delivery.
- Gather feedback from attendees, stakeholders, and team members to identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare detailed event reports, including financial analysis and recommendations for future events.
- Implement changes and improvements based on evaluation findings to enhance future event operations.
**Strategic Planning**
- Develop and execute operational strategies to support short
- and long-term business objectives.
- Collaborate with senior management to align operations with company goals and growth plans.
- Collaborate with the product development team to design and refine event-related products and services.
- Identify market trends and customer needs to drive innovation in event offerings.
- Test and evaluate new event concepts, products, and services for feasibility and customer appeal.
