Ashvale Civil Engineering are a groundworks company who primarily work for the house building sector. Established in 2003 we have steadily grown over the past 20+ years to become one of the leading groundworks employers in the region. We are currently based in Luton [LU1] but we will be moving to our newly built offices in Westoning [MK45] in 2025.

We are seeking a permanent Purchase Ledger Clerk for our forward thinking and ambitious company.

This role involves processing and managing invoices, payments, and maintaining accurate records of financial transactions

As a member of the purchase ledger department your duties will include
- Invoice Processing:

- Receiving, coding, and inputting supplier invoices into the accounting system.
- Matching invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Checking for accuracy and completeness
- Payments:

- Preparing payment runs (BACS, cheques, or online transfers).
- Ensuring timely payment to suppliers to avoid late fees or disruptions.
- Supplier Management:

- Communicating with suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Reconciling supplier statements.
- Accounts Reconciliation:

- Performing regular reconciliations of the purchase ledger accounts.
- Ensuring accounts are accurate and up to date.
- Month-End and Reporting:

- Assisting with month-end closing by preparing purchase ledger summaries.
- Generating reports on accounts payable activities.
- Compliance and Auditing:

- Ensuring adherence to financial regulations and company policies.
- Supporting audits by providing necessary documentation and records
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software preferably SAGE accounts and construct
- Strong IT skills in Excel, Outlook & Word
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle large volumes of transactions.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with suppliers and colleagues.
- Previous experience in the role is preferred but not essential

- Friday 8:30am - 5pm

**Salary**: £25,000 - £32,000 [depending on experience]
