**Salary: £67,064 - £76,000 Dependant on experience / up to £400 per day**

Sellick Partnership are recruiting for an experienced Head of Financial Accounts for a public sector organisation based in Hampshire for a temporary assignment for approximately 6 months.

The role is to lead, manage and develop the Financial Accounts and Payroll functions to deliver an efficient, effective and professional service. Whilst providing expert theoretical and practical knowledge of accepted accounting practices, accounting standardand rules that govern the production of annual accounts. Furthermore, the post holder will oversee the performance and development of the Financial Accounts, Payroll, Capital and Treasury teams and provide senior and professional support to the CFO/AssociateDirector of Finance across the range of their duties.

**The Head of Financial Accounts will be responsible for**:

- Provide the managerial and professional leadership to the Financial Accounts and Payroll team, providing a variety of top-quality services to the organisation
- Lead the staff appraisal and development process, including the production of agreed PDPs/KSFs and facilitate the implementation of those plans
- Support training and development for all finance and non-finance staff ensuring best practice is promulgated. Work with the Associate Director of Finance and other colleagues to develop and maintain a portfolio of finance training interventions that cansupport the development of financial, analytical and business skills throughout the organisation
- Promote staff development within the Finance Department, through active support of the Finance Staff Development (FSD) and other professional development agendas
- Deputise for the Associate Director of Finance when required
- Responsible for the development of financial policies and processes to be implemented across the organisation in relation to financial accounting, capital accounting and charitable funds
- Review current accounting standard, policies and rulings to ensure the financial implications are known and taken into account and that any changes are incorporated into existing Trust policies and procedures
- Support the CFO/Associate Director of Finance in the development of the medium-term financial strategy for the organisation
- Review and develop the organisations and departmental policies and procedures relevant to financial accounting standards
- Lead the production of the organisations annual accounts
- Lead on the production of the organisations Capital, Balance sheet, Charitable and Cash plans ensuring that they are achieved within the agreed timeline
- Experience of working in the public sector is essential
- CCAB Professional qualification with a minimum of 5 years' experience
- Experience of developing plans, forecasts and delivery of financial targets
- Minimum of 2 years' experience at operating at senior level within a large finance department with experience of staff management
- Experience of planning and implementation
- Experience of deputising for the DoF/DDoF is desirable
