Maintenance Fitter

**Job Description Summary**: The maintenance fitter is responsible for assisting with the planned and reactive maintenance of site plant and equipment
- In conjunction with line management and the site’s CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) prioritise reactive maintenance activities and attend accordingly.
- Carry out planned maintenance activities on site plant and equipment in accordance with the sites’ preventative maintenance schedules & CMMS.
- Fault finding to component level - Assist in the planning and implementation of site-specific project works.
- Relocate plant and equipment, when applicable.
- Use and utilisation of site powered vehicles.
- Adhere to safe systems of work, including the site’s LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures.
- Provide on the job training and guidance to develop F&M Apprentice mechanics
- In conjunction with the Maintenance office order breakdown parts or spares, providing detailed information as required.
- Work with contractors and suppliers, when necessary.
- Provide temporary Lead Mechanic cover when required.
- Carry out statutory inspections of plant and machinery.

**Requirements**:

- Must have served a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship (trade papers required).
- Can demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. - Can read and understand technical drawings and manuals.
- Has the ability to work as part of a team or on their own initiative.
- Can balance varying workloads and priorities to meet business needs in a fast paced and diverse environment.
- Must be computer literate and have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have recent mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial environment.
- A strong understanding of mechanical systems.
