Oregon Timber Frame are a division of Barratt Developments who specialise in the design, manufacture, supply and erection of structural timber frame to all divisions across the Group. The Design and Technical teams are involved in all aspects of timber frame housing design and innovation to ensure we provide the most sustainable and cost effective solutions. You will lead change throughout the Company, to promote a culture of continual business improvement. You will review, identify and drive business improvement with the overall aim of delivering sustainable Operational Excellence. Better use of Information Technology (IT) is seen as one of the greatest improvement opportunities for the business. You will lead the day-to-day management of the IT Support function, and work with the wider Oregon and Barratt teams to identify system &/or hardware improvements. Reporting into the Joint Managing Director, you will be responsible for: - To review, measure and identify potential improvements in all business processes (improve efficiency, reduce costs and maximise profitability). - To promote a ‘Continuous Improvement’ culture throughout the business. - To lead &/or facilitate ‘Lean Management’ projects. - To conduct ‘root cause analysis’ on our Exception Reports and identify robust and practical solutions to common quality issues. - To identify Research & Development projects to ensure we remain at the forefront of timber frame manufacturing industry. - Act as a point of contact for Oregon Employees to report IT issues and liaise with our IT support providers. You will work in partnership with all areas of our company to ensure current processes are measured and analysed. Thereafter you will be expected to identify and implement improvements. A good understanding of continuous improvement philosophies which include understanding the principles, systems, methods, tools and standards, is desirable however not essential as full training and development will be given. You will also be responsible for measuring, analysing and recording data and present improvement opportunities to the Board for consideration. Therefore, strong presentation/communication skills are required. You will be expected to learn all aspects of timber frame construction methods with the aim of providing additional technical support to the business. Have good leadership skills and have experience of developing interpersonal relationships. Maintain and exceed current levels of quality within the Company. What you'll need? **To be successful in the role, we are looking for**: ESSENTIAL SKILLS - Extensive knowledge of business processes, with a proven track record of improvement methodologies. - Ability to demonstrate initiative, the desire to drive change and be motivated to exceed expectations. - Time management: Ability to plan workload and exceed deadlines. - Man Management: Ability to communicate to varying levels of personnel. - Teamworking: Team player with a "can do" attitude. - Communicate effectively: verbally and through written words/reports. - Leadership: to educate all departments when implementing change through business improvement processes. - A good working knowledge of remote devices and a general IT competence is required. Desirable : Construction Industry exposure QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE Ideally 3 years or more experience in a supervisory or management role, with direct exposure to manufacturing and key business processes. Ideally educated to a good level (higher or above), but a proven track record in a similar role would be considered as an alternative.
