Our successful engineering client is looking for an experienced Procurement professional to work closely with the Purchasing Manager. They are due to receive significant investment for their site and are very much on a growth trajectory. The role will be primarily supply chain management, cost management and contract management. The purchasing specialist will own the supply chain and work closely with the planning manager to ensure that the site has all the required materials on time and at a reasonable cost.

Responsibilities to include:

- Lead and support buyers to ensure material availability.
- Successfully negotiate purchasing contracts, price and delivery to ensure optimal performance, costs and payment terms.
- Assist with regular re-negotiations of terms of business/service agreements and performance evaluation with suppliers, taking corrective action as required.
- Manage and continuously review the Purchase order system (MRP) to ensure it is accurate, up to date and consistently meets the requirements of the business.
- Manage suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, quality, quantity, cost of material and supplies.
- Manage deliveries against schedule and take appropriate action on late or mis-delivered stock in line with Inventory targets.
- Assist production in maintaining inventory at planned levels.
- Timely and effective communication of forecasts and Purchase orders.
- Continually review the total acquisition value offered by existing suppliers and ensure the company’s purchasing remains globally competitive.
- Interfacing between engineering, production planning operation teams, finance and service.
- Developing internal and external relationships.
- Procuring a range of commodity items for specific projects.
- Utilising contract management tools.
- Management of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

**Salary**: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
