Senior Energy Projects Coordinator
**Fixed term **of 12 months with possible extensions based on approval for Grant funding currently being applied for.**
We’ve got an exciting opportunity available for a talented individual to join our Greener Housing Grants team, which is part of Nottingham City Council’s award-winning Carbon Reduction, Energy, and Sustainability division.
The Senior Energy Projects Coordinator will play an important role in the delivery of grant-funded home energy improvements which will improve the quality of life of Nottingham’s residents and reduce their energy bills while supporting the City Council’s ambition to make Nottingham a carbon-neutral city by 2028.
You will be responsible for communicating with homeowners and contractors to ensure the most appropriate and high-quality energy efficiency measures are received. You will need to be able to carry out site visits and discuss the measures being installed with the homeowners. You will support the project manager and the wider team to deliver the project successfully.
We are ideally looking for individuals who have experience with EPCs, Retrofit Assessments, and domestic energy efficiency and are keen to develop their existing skills.
This role sits in the Greener Housing Grants team. The Greener Housing Grants Team manages private domestic retrofit projects across the city. For the Green Homes grant LAD 1 & 2, we were awarded £7.71m and delivered over 630 Solar PV and 50 insulation installs funded by the UK Government’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). We are now moving on to the Sustainable Warmth Competition grants (£5.61m).
Nottingham City Council is known for inclusivity and innovation, and we are continually working around the clock to deliver services for Nottingham’s citizens, visitors, and investors.
Our aspiration is to make Nottingham a Great City, but to do this we need to be a Great Council, provide Great Services, and recruit and develop a Great Workforce.
We will value your contributions, promote flexible and modern ways of working, will double your monthly pension contributions, offer a very generous 25-32 days holiday package each year (exclusive of public bank holidays and dependent on length of service) and give you the option to purchase up to 28 days additional holiday tax-free
We particularly want to hear from you if you are from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic community, identify within the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community (LGBT) and if you are Disabled - these groups of people are underrepresented in our workforce, and we’d like to reflect our local population more through our recruitment processes.
We have always been open to flexible working and the COVID-19 pandemic provided us with some new options to work in a completely different way. We welcome a conversation about flexible working at the point of interview.
**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**:
- Self-motivated, conscientious, and able to motivate other staff.
- Experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders from residents, suppliers, contractors, and internal colleagues.
- Ability to travel to sites across Nottingham and record details of installed measures.
- Experience working to deliver domestic energy efficiency projects in the UK.
- Energy/environmental degree or equivalent experience. **Retrofit Co-ordinator **qualification is ad**vantageous.**
