We were founded in 2010 and in 2012 set up the Norwich Men’s Shed, one of the first in the UK, and now a successful, independent charity in its own right. In 2020 MensCraft changed from a Community Interest Company to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. We have grown in recent years and now have a team of staff working across Norfolk and a small management team which is supported by an active Board of Trustees. We are currently looking for a support coordinator to support men who wish to challenge life-limiting beliefs, build their motivation through engaging with others in a creative, safe/supportive and non-judgmental environment. **Support Coordinator - The role**: The coordinator will plan and implement the successful delivery of Pit Stops in their area. The co-creation of various positive activities leads to opportunities for new friendships, skills, interests, meaning and purpose. **What are Pit Stops?** Pit Stop brings men together through activities and conversation to build friendship, connection and a sense of belonging. MensCraft hosts various Pit Stop meetings each week. The inspiration for these Pit Stops is the idea of men functioning best when theyhave the solidarity of their own pit crew: other men who they can regularly check-in with for support, understanding, laughter, light-hearted and stimulating discussion and activity. **As our Support Coordinator you will be responsible for**: - Organise and implement 2-hour sessions per week in both Watton and Thetford - Identify and implement strategies to enable individuals to overcome barriers and create a variety of positive activities that members will engage in - Work with range of facilitators / instructors to lead activities - Build multi agency collaboration and support - Train Men’s Wellbeing Champions and recruit and support volunteers in each area - Make referrals to relevant specialist support, when required - Ensure that complex and/or high-risk concerns are managed appropriately - Work with members and colleagues in the monitoring and evaluation of individual activities - Support the co-ordination of all activities effectively and maintain MensCraft standards in relation to members and other stakeholders alike - Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and partners **Note**: The job description is not designed to provide an exhaustive list of tasks and therefore the post holder is expected to undertake any other reasonable duties as specified by the line manager. **In order to be successful within this role you should have**: - Strong understanding of the issues involved in delivering effective support to a range of vulnerable men - An understanding of a range of approaches to working with men and the implementation of different agendas, such as co-creation to meet their needs - Knowledge, understanding or experience of supporting and supervising trainees, students or volunteers - Ability to work independently using own initiative while remaining accountable to line management - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the potential to present information to a wide audience - The ability to establish good working relationships with members, colleagues, external stakeholders and to work well within a team. - A valid driving license with the use of own car is essential **It would be great if you have experience within the following**: Social Care, Healthcare, Mental Health, Support Worker, Support Coordinator, Activities Coordinator, Health and Wellbeing, Charity, Volunteering.
