Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is an evidence based programme supporting clients to find meaningful and sustainable paid employment based on their preferences.
IPS was first brought into mental health services, supporting clients with severe mental illness into employment and is now being rolled out in drug and alcohol services.

CGL (Change Grow Live) are now recruiting for a Senior IPS Employment Specialist to manage the IPS employment team alongside recovery services to support Service Users who are wanting to find paid employment. This role will be based in the Greater Manchester area.
The Senior Employment Specialist will manage a team of three Employment Specialists alongside the management and operational delivery of the scheme which will include overseeing the budget, strategic relationships, pathways development, employer partnerships and ensuring the contract hits key performance indicators.
As this is a Senior Employment Specialist position, you should ideally have some knowledge and/or experience of working in IPS.
As the IPS service is new to CGL Manchester, you will lead the growing team of Employment Specialists, providing employment support within the treatment teams. The IPS team work closely with drug and alcohol treatment teams in a co-ordinated approach. This role is target driven to ensure a high quality service is delivered.
**About You**:
- Excellent communication skills and ability to form effective working relationships
- Knowledge of how to manage and support a team effectively
- Ability to collate and report data for the IPS service
- Effective management style to ensure staff are supported
- Drive to support individuals who want to find paid employment
- Ability to approach Employers, build relationships and broker opportunities
- The belief that with the right support, everyone can find paid employment
- Ability to achieve and excel in a target driven environment
- Negotiation skills
- Drive, passion and commitment to supporting our service users to find employment
- Proven ability to build rapport with people and especially understanding issues for people with affected by substance misuse or similar conditions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong written skills/verbal/ organisational skills
