GNS Civils are looking for experienced Shuttering carpenters to work on the multiple projects. You will be an integral part of the civils team. Due to the growth of our services on projects such as power stations, substations and water plants we are looking to grow a team of inhouse operatives willing to travel.

**Key Responsibilities**: 1. Formwork Installation & Construction
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and site plans to determine shuttering requirements.
- Assemble and install formwork systems, including traditional timber, metal, and proprietary formwork systems
- Cut, shape, and assemble timber, plywood, or metal formwork according to design specifications.
- Secure formwork using appropriate methods such as nailing, screwing, bolting, or welding.
- Ensure proper bracing and support of formwork structures to withstand the weight of wet concrete.

2. Concrete Pouring & Finishing
- Work closely with concrete finishers and steel fixers to coordinate pouring schedules.
- Monitor the pouring process to ensure concrete is evenly distributed and formwork remains stable.
- Make necessary adjustments to formwork to prevent leaks, bulging, or misalignment.
- Assist in concrete finishing tasks such as leveling, smoothing, and curing.

3. Formwork Striking & Dismantling
- Carefully remove formwork once concrete has set and cured as per project guidelines.
- Dismantle and store formwork materials safely for reuse or disposal.
- Repair and maintain formwork materials and tools for future use.

4. Health & Safety Compliance
- Preferrably have a BESC/National Grid ticket or be willing to be trained (paid for by GNS)
- Adhere to CSCS guidelines, health & safety regulations, and site-specific safety procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as gloves, helmets, safety boots, and eye protection.
- Work safely at heights when constructing or dismantling formwork structures.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or unsafe work practices.

5. Coordination & Teamwork
- Collaborate with Site Supervisors, Engineers, Steel Fixers, Concrete Finishers, and other Tradesmen to complete projects efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with the team to ensure formwork is ready for scheduled concrete pours.
- Assist in training apprentices and junior carpenters in shuttering techniques.
