Ryder Reid is delighted to be working with a progressive and innovative law firm who have a new opportunity for a Senior Recruitment & Trainee Development Advisor to join them on a permanent basis. The key purpose of this role is to pro-actively develop,organise and manage Trainee Recruitment whilst considering the SQE changes. The Senior Recruitment & Trainee Development Advisor will also take a proactive role in wider recruitment, promoting the firm's employee offering through networks and social mediachannels to increase applicant traffic.
Key responsibilities:
Trainee Recruitment
- Managing the annual training contract recruitment process for lawyers, liaising with all necessary stakeholders
- Be the face of Trainee Recruitment, adopting creative approaches for the firm
- Project managing the vacation schemes which run during the Summer
- Proactively and strategically selecting and arranging for the firm to attend university and diversity events to promote the firm
Trainee Co-Ordination (Post recruitment)
- Be the key contact for all trainees (present and future)
- Manage the registration of periods of recognised learning/ qualifying work experience with the SRA for all new trainees
- Brief all Seat Supervisor on responsibilities
- Co-ordinate inductions for new trainee solicitors and arrange training to assist them in their new roles and development
- Conducting/coordinating mid/end of seat trainee appraisals and seat rotations
- Providing advice to supervisors on any employee relation issues as required
- Review the NQ recruitment policy, liaising with the Training Principal
- Co-ordinate the NQ induction programme
- Manage the on-boarding process e.g. DBS checks, practising certificates and SRA submissions
- Co-ordinate and schedule PSC electives for all trainees
- Finalise SQE changes including educational provider
Graduate Recruitment
- Innovate and consider best practice within the Graduate Recruitment arena, looking at different routes to employment including apprenticeships
- Create working relationships with all Law Schools and various other recruitment display opportunities to ensure the firm remain the employer of choice
- Liaise with supervisors regularly ensuring that they are completing their catch-up meetings
- Attend Paralegal meetings as necessary
- Handle all PGDL/LPC/SQE queries
Recruitment
- Hold recruitment meetings with the HR Partner departments to agree a specific approach to each individual role
- Manage the advertising of roles internally and externally as appropriate including the use of social media, agency briefings and publications
- Screen CVs, facilitate recruitment tests and complete first stage interviews as required
- Delegate administrative tasks to HR Assistant
Diversity & Inclusion
- With HR Assistant coordination Recruitment & Retention meetings and agenda with EDI group
- Meet with internal EDI network to discuss trainee recruitment and recruitment process to build on positive change
- Continue managing relationships for specific diversity initiatives e.g., Diverse Jobs Matter, Rare recruitment, Law City and Black Vacation Scheme
- Provide advice and data on Race Fairness Commitment
