We are an established care provider who provide short and long-term residential services for children aged 11-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our homes have all recently been awarded Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.

Your aim whilst caring for our looked after children in our children’s home will be to build trusting positive relationships and a nurturing environment that replaces a family home.

You will need to be caring by nature but also strong and boundaried to be able to hold and support our children through the hardest of times. **Main duties & responsibilities**:
Our role is to prepare the young people in our residential homes for life after care, ensuring that they all have the necessary skills and knowledge to live independently and lead meaningful and rewarding adult lives. It is our role to safeguard them whilst in our care, dealing with a manner of risks and challenging behaviour associated with young people who have often suffered trauma and loss.
- To create a high quality, caring, child centred environment in which personal growth is encouraged, individual needs identified and met and where a care plan is formulated to each child/young person
- Work with children /young persons and their families to maintain the child/young person’s link with home, school, friends and other relations and to work positively towards the child/young person’s return home
- To create and maintain good working relationships with fieldwork/specialist staff and with professional colleagues from external agencies
- To prepare for and co-operate with inspections conducted by Ofsted
- To cover rotas and make sure the home is staffed effectively at all times
- To assist the Homes Manager to oversee key working in the home and ensure that TPW’s have the necessary support and training in order to undertake all duties of that role
- To assist the Homes Manager to ensure the completion of: Care Plans, Risk & Management Plans, Review Reports, Monthly Keyworker Reports, Psychological reports, Positive Behaviour Programmes and reward systems
- To ensure that reports by Support Workers are appropriately prepared for review/panels/planning/meetings etc.
- To attend and chair where necessary, meetings both internal and external to the home as appropriate
- Ensure the completion of all administration and paperwork relating to incidents, physical interventions and significant events, ensuring correct procedure has been followed paying particular attention to ensure that the young person has been heard
- De-brief staff after an incident, physical intervention or significant event, ensure their feelings are recorded and advocating open communication to further staff development and use the debrief as a positive learning experience
- Taking into account needs and personal choice ensure all young people have access to activities, clubs and voluntary activities, education and holidays
- To attend training and staff development events as required
- To undertake such other duties of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the Homes Manager
