**R**oles that**require** PVG Membership**

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

**job purpose/about the role**

To assist and learn with the service, repair and maintenance of Aberdeen City Council vehicles, plant and equipment as required. To attend college and attain Mechanical qualifications over 4 year apprenticeship

**The post holder needs to hold as a minimum**:
National 4 in English and Maths or equivalent (or working towards)

**The postholder is able to demonstrate**:

- Good communication skills
- Ability to learn through hands on experience
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Ability to grasp new topics quickly
- Ability to communicate effectively, including non-verbal, verbal and written forms of

communication
- A basic understanding of the repair and maintenance of vehicles, plant and equipment
